Frequently Asked Questions
Is PT safe during pregnancy?
Yes — prenatal physical therapy is safe throughout all three trimesters. Our therapists are trained in modifications specific to pregnancy and follow evidence-based guidelines.
When should I start postpartum PT?
Most providers recommend beginning postpartum PT at 6 weeks after delivery. If you saw us prenatally, you will have already learned safe beginning exercises to do in those early weeks before that point. We are happy to guide you on timing.
What is diastasis recti?
Diastasis recti is a separation of the abdominal muscles (linea alba) that commonly occurs during pregnancy. It can cause core weakness, back pain, and a visible gap or bulge. PT is one of the most effective treatments available.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is required — you can book directly online or call 773-729-2551. We do love to keep your OB or midwife in the loop and will touch base with them as needed throughout your care.
